6+ Magnitude earthquakes in 2016. Total to date: 35

I've just checked out the USGS. We ARE in trouble!!

I haven't looked at the USGS for 2-3 years. Back before 2012, before USGS changed the way it displays its information, a 6+Mag earthquake was a rare event. There were maybe 5 or 6 of them per year, and now, we're getting that PER MONTH !! Plus: 7+Mag were basically unheard of... Maybe 2 per year. And look at this... There's been x7 quakes of 7+Mag in this first 5 months alone !!


Following is the data for 2016 to date from off the USGS website. Go there, often - and keep your eye on these stats. Here are the numbers of quakes 6.0 and over for all the months in 2016 so far. This really IS terrible... Big planetary objects on the way I would say, coming into our Solar System.
