I made friends with Laura on the hikoi in April-May 2012. She's a wonderful person. I love her to bits. Here's another great post from Laura today on Facebook:
The often violent suppression of various peaceful protest missions is escalating, yet, peaceful and creative protest continues to occur all over the world. This is because:
1) people are waking up
2) the system is completely unsustainable and corroded beyond repair
3) peaceful public assembly is really fun [it sure is - Bron]
People, you have the power. don't be afraid to use it.
