Chuck Schuman and Nancy Pelosi didn't turn up to the meeting today - they're weak on crime, they're weak on immigration isssues. [They were not there to vote on budget spending for the military which right now is essential that they do turn up!]
There are a lot of differences between the Democrats and Republians. They decided to not show up. They've been all talk and no action. In light of the missile launch, they will probably turn up fairly quickly.
We had a vote on the tax bill today. It was unanimous vote. It should pass. It will be very popular.
Business confidence is up... Things are going very well. We will be able to bring back 4 trillion dollars that is currently offshore. We will be able to compete again.
To the best of my knowledge, consumer confidence is the highest it has ever been in a long, long time.
The meeting with Republican Senators today was phenomenal. The camaraderie was great.
Paul Ryan: It is regrettable that the Democrats did not turn up today, because we have to negotiate these bills and get the work done - particularly for our military. I just hope our friends on the other side of the isle will choose to participate.
With Democrats not showing up to pass the tax law and to activate the military is not ok. We need everyone to turn up to Congress so we can get these bills passed and get the work done.
Trump: In respect to the missile launch, we want our military funded and we want it funded now.
General Mattis: Just a little over 2.5 hours ago North Korea launched an inter-continental ballistic missile. In response, the South Koreans have fired back. The bottom line is, there is an ongoing ballistic missile threat to America that is a threat to world peace.
Trump: Things have changed over the last two hours, so let's see if this changes things around for Schumer and Pelosi.
