Cannon was born on April 15, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was married to Johnny Cannon, a Navy officer from Kansas City from 1951-1994.[1][2] Cannon was stationed with him in the Philippines' Naval Station Sangley Point where he worked as an air traffic controller from 1960-1963. During this time he was trained in hypnosis by a professional from the New York Institute of Hypnology. Shortly thereafter he was suddenly deployed for the Vietnam War. In 1968 Cannon was once again stationed with him at Beevile's Naval Air Station Chase Field where he offered hypnotherapy sessions for smoking cessation and weight loss purposes to anyone living on or near the base. Cannon learned about hypnosis through him and cites the following as her earliest influences: The Search for Bridey Murphy by Morey Bernstein; The Enigma of Reincarnation by Brad Steiger; and The Search for the Girl with the Blue Eyes by Jess Stearn.[3] In September 1968, her husband's automobile accident led to their retirement in Huntsville, Arkansas where she began her career as an author and hypnotherapist.[4]

Cannon founded Ozark Mountain Publishing in 1992.[5] Although her first book, Five Lives Remembered, was written in 1980, it remained unpublished until 2009. Her first published book series, Conversations with Nostradamus, was based on channeled interpretations of his prophecies. One interpretation was published in an issue of Weekly World News.[6]

Cannon hosts her own radio show, The Metaphysical Hour,[7] and has has appeared as a guest on Coast to Coast AM[8] and the Shirley MacLaine show.[9]
