Mineral resources worth billions have been discovered in the seemingly barren and arid land of Afghanistan. According to the Pentagon Afghanistan is filled with iron, copper, magnesium, chromium, gold, nickel, mercury and lithium and precious stones and could become one of the world’s most important mining centers. The discovery could make huge changes in the war-torn country who’s economy primarily relies on the Opium-trade.
